Awarenessinfohub has gathered that Fuji music icon, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as KWAM 1 or K1 De Ultimate, has explained that a medical condition requiring constant hydration is the reason he is often seen with a water flask.

In a statement released on Friday by his spokesperson, Kunle Rasheed, the veteran musician said he suffers from chronic dehydration, a condition that makes it necessary for him to drink water regularly.

He noted that his doctor had strongly advised him to remain constantly hydrated, hence his habit of carrying a water flask everywhere.

The clarification followed the August 5 incident at the local wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, involving him and ValueJet Airline

He explained that the flask he carried on the day of the incident contained only water and not alcohol, as was alleged in some quarters.

According to him, it was empty when he passed through two security screenings and was only filled with water at the airport lounge before heading to the tarmac.

While expressing regret over the concerns the matter generated, he said he had no intention of disrupting operations or violating aviation rules.

He also tendered an unreserved apology to the Presidency, the Ministry of Aviation, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), ValueJet Airline, Nigerians, and fans across the world.

The statement partly reads, “Unknown to many, I suffer from chronic dehydration, and my doctor strongly advised that I remain constantly hydrated. This is why I always carry a water flask with me. And contrary to the negative narrative being circulated in some quarters, the flask I carried on that particular day contained only water — not alcohol, as wrongly alleged.”
